For the 2010 charity-of-the-year, the SHS Student Council chose the Walker’s Point Youth and Family Center, which offers services for runaway, pregnant and troubled teenagers. However, several planned fundraising events were cancelled.
Results from the Online Youth Risk Behavior Survey (OYRBS), a survey that students in 6th through 12th grade completed in December, were recently released. In almost every statistic the survey measured, SHS got a better percentage than the national percentage for the same statistic.
